Life Span:  Annual

Flowers:  Bright pine to rose-purple flowers have 4 petals and 4-lobed stigma.

Habitat:  Burned forests, roadsides and streamsides.

Reproduction:  Pods open to release tiny, plumed seeds into the wind.
