Family:  Snapdragon ( Scrophulariaceae )

Height:  1-3" tall

Life Span:  Perennial

Leaves:  The leaves are entire, or the upper leaves may be lobed.

Flowers:  The colorful part composed of bracts and sepals. The colored bracts typically have 3 deep lobes.

Habitat:  Common in moist meadows, open woods, and among shrubs in the foothills, montane, and subalpine ecosystems from Colorado to New Mexico.

 This plant is a common orange-bracted variety
